Quality

Make it Right.
Make it On-Time.

qualitypolicy_180.jpgThat's our Quality Policy. Pretty simple right? Not so much for a custom seal manufacturer. In our business, every application and customer is unique in some way, shape, or form. One may inflate our seal only once for many years, while another wants to cycle our bladders many times/hour. And yet a third wants the seal to withstand a bomb blast within a containment chamber!

All of these applications have a unique set of quality requirements and delivery needs. Our goal is meet these requirements for each and every order. Again, pretty simple. What complicates things is that we have over 200 unique products being manufactured at any one time in our manufacturing facility, so keeping track can get pretty complicated.

iso_150.jpgEnveloping this flow is our ISO 9001-2008 certification. We have been certified since 1994 and take this pretty seriously. For those in the know, ISO 9001 and the procedures that come with it are really what each company makes of it. Some may implement a minimum of controls while others are more disciplined. We consider ourselves to be more disciplined and find that continuous improvement (for us, to make the everlasting, never failing seal) is the most important aspect of the standard. We try to improve every day and. in almost all cases, it is the little improvements that really make us better.

A supplement to our quality system is our Nuclear Quality Assurance Program. For our Nuclear Safety Related products, all steps in engineering, manufacture, inspection and test are closely controlled using this separate program, which is based on ANSI N45.2 and 10CFR50 Appendix B. Think ISO is hard? Take a look at the Appendix B standard or, even better, have 5 power plant auditors visit your site for a week so they can have a look. It's a difficult program and we are proud to be part of it. And, honestly, after every audit we learn from the auditors ways to make our systems even stronger.
